Snakes-N-Scales presentation is a unique and engaging experience. Our shows are educationally based so you can choose which show your school prefers or have us back many times and not see the same show! We use jokes, stories, "animal's eyes" views of the world, anecdotes, factoids, questions and answers and a gentle, controlled, touching experience to make everyone laugh, think and feel. They will laugh because it's fun, so they will remember it. They will think, thanks to our engaging, experienced teachers. They will touch some animals so they will feel its reality and hopefully someday, when they look back on this event, remember and understand that these creatures are our neighbors on Earth. We serve all ages but are especially equipped to perform for young children, since most of our staff have
a great deal of experience with this wonderful age!

This our most popular show, at all grade levels, focusing on the four types of reptiles, snakes, lizards, turtles and the alligator. Several of these animals can be touched under the watchful eyes of our instructor. We might bring lizards like a Bearded Dragon and a Blue Tongued Skink, or maybe a Legless Lizard; for turtles you might meet an African Tortoise, Box Turtle, or a weird Mata Mata, and representing the snakes, a feisty Hognose, regal Kingsnake and then an amazing Burmese Python. And as something only Snakes-N-Scales can bring to you, a juvenile American Alligator. (Only the Snakes-N-Scales teacher can touch the Alligator.) We'll talk about the specialties of each, but at the appropriate grade of the group. So we’ll look at the eyes, tails and claws; noses and "toeses" of these creatures, what they eat, how they protect themselves, and their relationships with us, both as pets and as wild animals. We’ll joke about their habits from their point of view, discuss their homes and habitats, and even find out if these creatures make good pets.

This is a unique program to Snakes-N-Scales. It may include invertebrate animals such as the underwater strongman the Starfish, the peaceful but spiny Sea Urchins, the patient and still Sponge, the Red, White and Blue Patriot Crab, and the amazing Blue Lobster. Most of these are touchable and have no ability to hurt anyone.
Also included are several of the following fish, "the sharp bellied Clown Knife Fish, the weird, whiskered, Amazonian Arawana, the snake-like predator the Moray Eel, the freshwater bully, the Oscar or everyone’s favorite lost fish, the Clown Fish, just like in the movie!

(True fish are not touchable.)

This show will be presented over the course of an hour using our brand of jokes, stories and “animals’ eye views discussing what it’s like to live in the water, how these animals find food and avoid becoming food. This show will look at these incredible creatures in a fun hands-on, very interactive way to find the fun facts about these wonderful denizens of the deep and shallows.

Bugs and spiders along with frogs and snakes are thought to be “icky” by many people. But the amazing animals in this show will make you forget your discomfort! The Madagascar Hissing Cockroach is just a lot of air  and really nothing to be afraid of. He’s even touchable. Tarantulas are actually hairy, peace loving creatures, and scorpions glow in the dark, (yes really!) Frogs swallow with their eyes and toads have poisonous skins. And the snakes have no eye lids, replaceable teeth, a skull with hinges, they live nearly everywhere, eat everything from deer to fish to alligators and have over 3000 different kinds! Everyone will be laughing so hard and learning so much they’ll all forget what they were afraid of!

Wonder about who lives in the water!
How do they do it? Frogs, salamanders, turtles and alligators all swim differently, eat differently and live differently but they all “hang out,” at the pond.
This show looks at the diverse lives of creatures in the pond.
Watch as each takes a turn in the pool to see how they swim so well. Some of these animals are local and some are from ponds far far away. All are water loving wondrous creatures presented with fun and facts.

This show includes live swimming demonstrations of these animals, so class size (ideally) should not exceed 50 students.
